About West End Athletic Club

West End Athletic Club is one of Toronto's premier boxing and fitness facilities.

We are a family-owned, community-driven club dedicated to helping people become stronger, healthier, and more confident through world-class coaching.

Our philosophy is simple: The Energy of Family. The Standards of Champions. Boxing Done Right.

Whether someone is stepping into a gym for the first time or preparing for competition, we provide a welcoming environment built on professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring Women's Boxing Coach to lead and expand our Women's Boxing Program.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about empowering women through boxing while helping build one of the premier women's boxing communities in Toronto.

As the leader of this program, you will play a key role in developing curriculum, coaching standards, member experience, and long-term program growth.

We're looking for someone who can create an environment where women of all ages and abilities feel welcomed, challenged, supported, and inspired.

Your Primary Responsibility

Your primary focus will be to build, lead, and grow the Women's Boxing Program at the West End Athletic Club.

This includes:

  • Developing a structured women's boxing curriculum for all skill levels.
  • Delivering engaging, high-quality boxing classes.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for beginners.
  • Helping members build confidence, fitness, and technical boxing skills.
  • Continuously improving the program based on member feedback and coaching experience.
  • Working alongside management to grow participation and retention within the women's program.

What You'll Do

  • Lead women's boxing classes with energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
  • Develop and refine class programming and curriculum.
  • Teach proper boxing technique, footwork, defense, and conditioning.
  • Ensure a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships with members.
  • Mentor and motivate women to achieve their individual goals.
  • Contribute ideas to improve the program and overall member experience.
  • Support club events, workshops, and women's initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the coaching team.
  • Uphold the standards, values, and culture of West End Athletic Club.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is more than a coach.

We're looking for someone who can become the face of our Women's Boxing Program.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Boxing coaching experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A passion for empowering women through fitness and sport.
  • Strong class management skills.
  • High energy and a positive attitude.
  • Professionalism and reliability.
  • Confidence leading groups of varying abilities.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to continuously improve.
  • The ability to build community and foster lasting relationships.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred).
  • Boxing coaching certification or equivalent experience (preferred).

Who Succeeds at West End Athletic Club?

The most successful coaches at West End Athletic Club aren't simply great instructors. They're leaders, mentors, and culture builders. They understand that coaching goes far beyond teaching combinations.

They create confidence, build relationships, and inspire people to become the best version of themselves. The coaches who thrive at West End are those who:

  • Lead by example both inside and outside the gym.
  • Inspire confidence in every member they coach.
  • Build genuine, lasting relationships.
  • Create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Take initiative without being asked.
  • Hold themselves to a high standard of professionalism.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently.
  • Work collaboratively with the coaching team.
  • Embrace feedback and continuous learning.
  • Believe coaching is about changing lives, not simply teaching boxing.

At West End Athletic Club, we're not just hiring another boxing coach. We're looking for someone who wants to build a program, strengthen our community, and leave a lasting impact on the lives of the women they coach.

Why Join West End Athletic Club?

  • Lead and shape one of Toronto's fastest-growing women's boxing programs.

  • Professional development and mentorship opportunities.
  • Opportunities to lead seminars, workshops, and special events.
  • Be part of a family-owned organization committed to excellence.

  • Independent Contractor Position.
  • Opportunities for additional coaching hours, private lessons, workshops, and program growth.
