We understand how critical food plant sanitation is to the success of our clients' operations, so we take contract cleaning quality and safety very seriously. We handle every detail of the sanitation program, from on-site management of nightly cleaning crews to managing and maintaining all appropriate documentation necessary for internal and third-party audits (BRC, SQF, CFIA, USDA).

The Role

We are seeking a meticulous and compliance-driven QA & Food Safety Manager to oversee the technical integrity of our sanitation programs. In this role, you will own the facility's compliance strategy, manage corporate and regulatory documentation, and validate cleaning effectiveness through rigorous scientific testing. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between EDSS operations and the client's quality department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and defend robust sanitation programs, Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS), and SSOP documentation to ensure absolute compliance with BRC, SQF, CFIA, and USDA standards.
  • Own the microbial and environmental monitoring programs, including ATP bioluminescence swabbing and micro-sample collection. Analyze data trends to validate sanitation efficacy.
  • Lead root-cause investigations for any SSOP deviations, pre-op failures, or micro-positives. Implement definitive corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Partner with chemical suppliers and internal operations to continuously review and optimize chemical usage, titration accuracy, and water consumption.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the customer’s QA Manager, attending corporate quality meetings and presenting validation data.
  • Develop and deliver technical training modules for staff regarding food allergens, pathogen environmental monitoring (PEM), and chemical safety.

What You Bring (Requirements)

  • Degree or diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
  • 2+ years of QA management experience specifically within food manufacturing, food plant sanitation and grocery stores
  • Expert-level knowledge of SQF, BRC, HACCP, SSOPs, and regulatory compliance (CFIA/USDA).
  • Advanced familiarity with micro-sample collection, environmental monitoring charting, and data analysis.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills; proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to occasionally audit night-shift operations to validate QA protocols.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
