Job Summary

Toronto's leading grocery delivery service is looking for a G-Licensed Delivery Driver to join our team. The position is full time, Monday through Friday, starting at 8:15 AM each day.

At least three (3) years of commercial driving (light trucks/cube trucks) experience is preferred, grocery experience and product knowledge are assets. Smart Serve certification preferred.

CAREER OPPORTUNITY:

Your responsibilities will include packing, machine maintenance, delivery of products and pick up of recycling, while providing the highest level of customer service. You will be expected to operate the delivery vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules of the road and following company policies and procedures. You will be given a daily delivery route which will expected to be completed in a timely and safe manner. As the face of our company we are looking for outgoing and personal people with a strong work ethic that care about recycling and the environment

Role Specific Accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Deliver orders to homes, offices, restaurants and foodservice businesses while safely driving and operating a company Hino 195 truck or Ford Transit 250.
  • Deliver products over established routes.
  • Deliver products into customers’ locations as required (may include delivering up/down stairwells at some locations).
  • Ensure correct loading of vehicle.
  • Inspect the order at time of delivery to ensure all products invoiced are present
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by following customer’s instructions in an accurate, professional and timely manner.
  • Rotate stock for customers as requested paying attention to expiry dates of all products.
  • Pick up product orders from suppliers as required.
  • Communicate with management.
  • Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting will be performed on a regular basis throughout a shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A valid “G” license with a current and clean abstract and CVOR is a must
  • 2-3 years minimum of commercial driving experience preferred
  • Smart Serve certification preferred
  • An excellent command of English is required
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs up and down at least one flight of stairs
  • Must be able to operate a pump truck and dollies
  • Excellent organization, communication and customer service skills.
  • Physically fit and well-groomed
  • Good command of the English language, written & verbal
  • Delivery experience and grocery experience are assets
  • Strong knowledge of Toronto roads and surrounding areas
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
