Full job description

Embassy Ingredients Ltd. is a Brampton-based food and beverage manufacturing company specializing in innovative flavours, bakery ingredients, bakery mixes, colours, and customized ingredient solutions. The company combines creativity and food science through its on-site flavour lab, bakery test kitchen, Certified Flavourists, Food Scientists, and Bakery Specialists to formulate, test, and manufacture high-quality products for the bakery and food industry. Embassy Ingredients is also known for its focus on innovation, clean-label ingredients, product customization, and quality assurance.

The successful candidate is responsible for hands-on oversight of the sanitation team to ensure all sanitation targets are achieved for productivity. They are passionate about safety and promote a culture where safety comes first and have a keen sense for continuous improvement. The position is expected to perform the following duties:

  • Oversee, direct, and conduct daily cleaning and sanitation of production areas, production equipment, warehouse and welfare areas, floors, etc. of the facility.
  • Conducts daily cleaning and sanitation of the office and welfare areas.
  • Assign cleaning tasks, monitor staff performance, and ensure work is completed properly and on time.
  • Responsible for ensuring sanitation work is completed and compliant with food safety and quality standards.
  • Supports the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of all sanitation practices.
  • Support cleaning staff to ensure they understand workplace procedures and service standards.
  • Completes all food safety and quality paperwork as required.
  • Adheres to health and safety protocols.
  • Performs all other relevant duties as required such as basic financial recordkeeping related to cleaning operations
  • Supports all food safety initiatives, including but not limited to BRCGS, HACCP, GMPs, Allergens, GFCP, Kosher, Halal, and customer requirements, such as Costco standards and Kraft standards.
  • Ensure all activities maintain the food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality of our products.

The employment terms are temporary (2 years), full-time

The candidate is expected to work 40 hours per week

The candidate is required to be proficient in English speaking/listening

The base wage offered for this position is: $36.00/hour

Vacation: 3 weeks’ vacation per year

The successful candidates must possess the following:

  • 2-year Ontario College Diploma in business, management, operations, or related, AND EITHER:
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in sanitation/cleaning of any commercial, manufacturing, industrial operations, OR
  • Any amount of prior supervisory experience in commercial bakery operations.
  • Other skills:
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate in performance of work.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic work environment with multiple demands.
  • Hands-on with awareness and high sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized/proven multi-tasker.
  • Continuous learner and willingness to embrace change.
  • Physical effort/lifting, up to 25 kg.
