Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Food Counter Attendant to join our vibrant food service team. In this role, you will be the friendly face that greets customers, prepares and serves food with enthusiasm, and ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Your passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and ability to handle fast-paced situations will help create memorable experiences for our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills, gain valuable restaurant experience, and be part of a lively food industry environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble food items quickly and accurately according to established recipes and standards
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
  • Serve customers with a friendly attitude, answer questions about menu items, and promote upselling opportunities to increase sales
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, including food handling, bussing tables, and cleaning equipment
  • Manage food inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and ensure proper food safety practices are followed
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, assembling, or packaging items in a quick service or fast food restaurant setting
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, perform basic math calculations for change, and record sales efficiently
  • Support team members during busy periods by multitasking between serving customers, preparing orders, and maintaining a tidy workspace

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation or food service environments; prior restaurant experience is highly valued
  • Strong customer service skills with an energetic approach to engaging guests and promoting products
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
  • Experience with bussing tables or supporting kitchen operations in quick service or fast food restaurants is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and serve customers efficiently
