Our vision is to establish one of Canada's premier Cantonese dining destinations through exceptional cuisine and refined hospitality.We are seeking an experienced Front of House Manager who will play a critical role in building a restaurant capable of achieving world-class standards and sustainable business levels.This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for all aspects front-of-house operations, from guest experience and team development to labour management, inventory control, and financial accountability.Position OverviewThe Front of House Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the restaurant and leisure centre F&B while ensuring every guest receives a seamless and memorable dining experience.Working closely with the Executive Chef, the Front of House Manager will report to the facility General Manager. Together, you will establish and maintain the highest standards of service, professionalism, and operational discipline throughout the restaurant.Key ResponsibilitiesService Leadership
- Lead all front-of-house operations with exceptional attention to detail.
- Foster a culture of hospitality defined by professionalism, precision, and consistency.
- Support staff and develop a great culture and working environment.
- Maintain an active presence on the restaurant floor during service.
- Deliver exceptional experiences for guests, members, private dining, and events.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally while protecting the restaurant's reputation.
- Ensure seamless communication between the dining room, kitchen, bar, and management team.
- Uphold luxury service standards across all guest interactions.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop front-of-house employees.
- Conduct ongoing coaching and performance evaluations.
- Maintain high standards of grooming, professionalism, and service etiquette.
- Build a positive, accountable, and performance-driven culture.
- Lead pre-shift briefings and ongoing service education.
- Develop staff knowledge of Cantonese cuisine, wine, tea, cocktails, and premium spirits.
Financial & Operational Management
- Manage labour costs through forecasting, scheduling, and payroll oversight.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance.
- Control beverage inventory, purchasing, and stock variances.
- Minimize waste and implement effective loss-prevention practices.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef to achieve food and beverage cost targets.
- Drive revenue through thoughtful upselling, menu knowledge, and guest engagement.
- Oversee POS reconciliation, cash handling, and end-of-day reporting.
- Review financial reports and implement operational improvements to meet budgeted objectives.
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements, health regulations, and liquor licensing legislation.
- Manage reservation systems and optimize seating strategies.
- Coordinate beverage vendors and front-of-house suppliers.
- Prepare payroll information and staffing reports.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training initiatives.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum three years of progressive leadership experience in luxury or fine dining restaurants.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin. Knowledge of Cantonese an asset but not a requirement.
- Previous management experience overseeing high-volume premium dining operations.
- Strong understanding of restaurant financial management, including labour cost control, food and beverage cost management, inventory systems, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Experience managing beverage inventory and purchasing.
- Strong knowledge of wine service and food pairing.
- Experience with premium cocktail and beverage programs.
- Knowledge of Chinese spirits, including baijiu and regional liquors.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure while maintaining the highest service standards.
