Shift & Schedule: Monday to Friday, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, events, launches, festivals, and community activations as required
Work Location: Troubled Monk Brewery, Red Deer, AB, with travel to events and activations as needed
Reports To: Marketing Manager

At Troubled Monk, we are passionate about crafting beverages worth sharing and building a brand rooted in community, creativity, storytelling, and real connection.

We are looking for a Social Media & Brand Content Manager to join our in-house marketing team and help showcase our brand. This role is about more than posting content. It is about seeing the magic in the everyday: the production floor, the taproom, the people, the events, product launches, the community moments, and the small details that make Troubled Monk feel like Troubled Monk.

We are looking for someone fun, organized, highly creative, and naturally curious. Someone with an eye for capturing “a day in the life” and turning it into content that feels real, engaging, and worth sharing.

This person will work closely with the Marketing Team and the broader Troubled Monk team to create content across Troubled Monk, Troubled Tea, GrainHenge, and our growing family of craft beverage brands.

Job Summary

The Social Media & Brand Content Manager is responsible for creating, planning, publishing, and analyzing social media content that strengthens brand awareness, community connection, and customer engagement.

This is a full-time, primarily in-person role for someone who wants to be in the building, in the room, at the event, and out in the community. The right person will help bring Troubled Monk’s brand story to life through authentic, creative, real-time, and campaign-based content while supporting the broader marketing strategy.

This role is ideal for someone who is creative with a camera, sharp with words, organized behind the scenes, and curious about how new tools, including AI, can help a modern marketing team work smarter without losing its human touch.

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Brand Storytelling

● Capture photo and video content across the brewery, taproom, production floor, events, product launches, partnerships, sponsorships, behind-the-scenes moments, and activations across Alberta
● Create engaging reels, stories, posts, short-form videos, captions, graphics, and campaign assets
● Bring a creative eye to “day in the life” storytelling, helping show the world who Troubled Monk is from the inside out
● Tell the stories behind our beverages, people, events, ingredients, partnerships, awards, community involvement, and everyday moments
● Develop content that reflects each brands voice, values, personality, humour, and community presence
● Create content for multiple brands, including Troubled Monk, Troubled Tea, GrainHenge, and other company initiatives as required

Social Media Management & Community Engagement

● Manage day-to-day social media posting across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, the website, and other relevant channels
● Maintain an organized content calendar aligned with product launches, campaigns, events, sponsorships, seasonal priorities, and company goals
● Write strong, on-brand captions tailored to each platform and audience
● Monitor social media comments, messages, tags, mentions, and community engagement in a timely and professional manner
● Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, audio, formats, and best practices while ensuring they align with the voice, audience, and goals of the brand you're creating content for.
● Help build an online community that feels connected to our taproom, our team, our products, and our story

Marketing Strategy, Events & Campaign Support

● Work with the Marketing Manager to support social media strategy, campaign planning, and content priorities
● Participate in marketing planning meetings and contribute creative ideas for campaigns, product launches, events, and brand-building opportunities
● Support promotional campaigns, new product releases, events, sponsorships, community partnerships, and major brand moments
● Collaborate with the Events & Sponsorships Lead and Marketing Assistant to support content capture, campaign execution, asset organization, and event promotion

● Attend key Troubled Monk events, sponsorship activations, festivals, fundraisers, community partnerships, and industry events as required

AI, Innovation & Continuous Improvement

● Explore and implement AI tools that improve efficiency, content planning, creative development, reporting, organization, and workflow within the marketing department
● Use AI thoughtfully to support idea generation, caption drafting, content repurposing, campaign planning, research, administrative tasks, and process improvement
● Stay curious and informed about emerging technology, social media tools, and digital marketing trends that could strengthen Troubled Monk’s marketing efforts
● Balance the use of AI with strong human judgment, creativity, brand voice, accuracy, and authenticity
● Work with the Marketing Manager to test and implement tools or processes that help the department work smarter without losing our touch

Analytics, Brand Standards & Compliance

● Track social media performance, including reach, engagement, follower growth, campaign impact, and content performance
● Provide regular reporting and insights to the Marketing Manager
● Use performance data to recommend improvements and identify what resonates with audiences
● Ensure all content aligns with Troubled Monk’s brand standards, voice, values, visual identity, and overall marketing strategy
● Ensure content complies with applicable alcohol marketing regulations and internal standards
● Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and good judgment when posting on behalf of the company
