At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Could you be the full-time SPQD Engineer in Saint-Bruno we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your supplier quality and process development expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside proactive and collaborative teammates.
You'll ensure that supplier product and process developments meet contract and quality requirements for purchased parts. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, procurement, and project management), oversee supplier quality activities, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of monitoring and validating supplier product/process development against Alstom standards, but also coordinate First Article Inspections (FAI) and support the resolution of non-conformities.
We’ll look to you for:
-
Leading supplier quality activities for designated commodities across projects
-
Defining and deploying the Part Approval Process and SPQD cycle
-
Conducting supplier risk assessments and ensuring compliance before “Go Order”
-
Making Go/No-Go decisions for production and FAI milestones
-
Tracking supplier deliverables via the Supplier Quality Portal (SQP)
-
Driving suppliers to meet FAI Go On Time targets and escalating issues when needed
-
Evaluating supplier maturity, including FMEA, control plans, and work instructions
-
Preparing incoming inspection requirements for first deliveries
-
Reporting regularly on project quality status and contributing to continuous improvement (REX, APSYS)
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or equivalent
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, quality, or project roles
-
Familiarity with supplier qualification standards (ISO, ASME, IRIS)
-
Ability to interpret technical documentation and supplier contracts
-
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems
-
Fluency in French and English
-
Expertise in supplier quality processes (development & execution)
-
Knowledge in FRP materials and processes, including mechanical properties, thermal performance, and aging characteristics of FRP in interior applications
-
Experience with surface finish and bonding techniques, such as gel coat applications, surface preparation, and adhesive bonding
-
Familiarity with tooling and mold validation for FRP production
-
Strong leadership and communication skills
-
Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
-
Knowledge of quality tools (PFMEA, control plans, QRQC, 8D, etc.)
