Full job description

Full-Time Household Cook, Cleaner & Personal Assistant

Location: St. Albert, Alberta
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Pay: $21.00 per hour, plus a performance-based bonus system
Position: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

We are a family in St. Albert seeking a dependable, organized and hardworking person to help manage our home. We work from home and have a 16-year-old daughter and a small, friendly dog.

This position combines meal preparation, household cleaning, laundry, light yard work and personal-assistant duties. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices what needs to be done and can work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare family meals
  • Maintain a clean, organized and comfortable home
  • Complete general household cleaning, including kitchens, bathrooms, floors and living areas
  • Wash, dry, fold and put away laundry
  • Complete ironing as required
  • Change bedding and linens
  • Assist with household organization
  • Run occasional errands and pick up household supplies
  • Perform seasonal outdoor work, including cutting the lawn and caring for flowers
  • Help with other reasonable household and personal-assistant tasks
  • Occasionally assist during a weekend function, no more than four times per year, with advance notice

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Previous experience in cooking, cleaning, household management or personal-assistant work is preferred
  • Comfortable working in a home with a small dog
  • Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Physically able to perform household cleaning and light outdoor work
  • Willing to provide references and complete a background check
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel would be considered an asset, particularly for preparing documents, maintaining household lists, tracking expenses and organizing information.
  • General computer experience including moving and creating files and directories.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, keeping a home organized and helping a busy family with its day-to-day needs.
