Epoxy Flooring Lead / Supervisor

Coquitlam, BC | $30/hour to start | Full-Time

The Role

Our client, a specialty flooring contractor serving commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, is hiring an experienced epoxy / resinous flooring installer to lead a small crew. The role is suited to an experienced working lead or a strong installer ready to step into leadership.

This is not a desk-based supervisory position. You will work directly alongside the crew while coordinating daily work, maintaining quality and safety standards, and making sure projects are completed properly and efficiently.

The company provides strong in-house training, clear advancement opportunities, and structured wage progression for someone who demonstrates the technical ability, leadership, consistency, and attention to detail required to take on greater responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Installation: Work alongside the crew installing epoxy and other resinous flooring systems.
  • Crew Leadership: Direct small crews on site, assign work, provide guidance, and lead by example.
  • Surface Preparation: Oversee and perform concrete grinding, preparation, patching, crack repair, and other required substrate work.
  • Coating Installation: Ensure mixing, application, cure times, temperature requirements, and installation procedures are followed correctly.
  • Site Readiness: Make sure the required materials, tools, equipment, and consumables are available for each phase of work.
  • Quality Control: Maintain a high standard of workmanship and identify issues before they become costly deficiencies.
  • Safety: Ensure the crew follows company, client, and site-specific safety requirements and completes the required documentation.
  • Project Coordination: Keep work organized and progressing efficiently while adapting to changing site conditions, schedules, other trades, clients, and general contractors.
  • Communication: Keep management informed of progress, delays, site conditions, material needs, and issues.

Requirements

MANDATORY

  • Epoxy / Resinous Flooring Experience: Hands-on experience installing epoxy or other resinous flooring systems, with a working understanding of mixing, application, cure times, and changing site or temperature conditions.
  • Surface Preparation Experience: Experience preparing concrete for resinous flooring, including grinding, with familiarity with patching and crack-treatment techniques.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Comfortable directing other workers while remaining actively involved in the work.
  • Plans & Specifications: Able to read plans and follow installation specifications.
  • Work Practices: Able to consistently follow instructions and procedures, maintain attention to detail, and learn and adopt new methods.
  • Safety Compliance: Able and willing to follow and enforce site safety requirements and complete required documentation.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to perform the physical work involved in surface preparation and flooring installation.
  • Driver’s Licence / Transportation: Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record and a reliable personal vehicle for travel to job sites.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Able to occasionally travel and work nights when required.
  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in Canada.

PREFERRED

  • Leadership Experience: Previous Foreman, Supervisor, Crew Lead, or similar leadership experience.
  • Commercial / Industrial Flooring Experience: Experience installing resinous flooring systems in commercial, industrial, or institutional environments.
  • Concrete Polishing Experience: Experience with concrete polishing.
  • Concrete Repair Experience: Additional experience with concrete repairs, patching, crack repair, or similar work.
  • Grinding Equipment Experience: Experience operating large commercial concrete grinders.
  • Safety Training: First Aid or other relevant construction safety certifications.

Compensation, Schedule & Benefits

  • Starting Pay: $30/hour.
  • Growth: Structured, performance-based wage progression, with opportunities for higher hourly compensation and potentially a salaried supervisory position as responsibilities increase.
  • Hours: Full Time
  • Overtime: Paid when applicable.
  • Travel: Approximately 10% may involve out-of-town work. Paid travel time, private hotel accommodation, and a daily food allowance are provided.
  • Night Work: Occasional night work may be required.
  • Benefits: Extended health and dental benefits, employee assistance program, RRSP matching, and paid time off.
  • Profit Sharing / Bonuses: Profit-sharing and bonus opportunities.

Work Location: In person at project sites, primarily throughout the Lower Mainland.

Pay: $30.00 per hour
