We are looking for hardworking, reliable Road Labourers and Flaggers to join our crew for the remainder of the 2026 season. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with road construction, asphalt, traffic control, or general labour experience who are looking to build their skills and grow with a professional, safety-focused team.

Job Duties

As a Road Labourer / Flagger, you will play an important role in our asphalt maintenance, road construction, and traffic control operations. This is a hands-on position requiring individuals who are comfortable working outdoors, performing physical labour, and supporting the crew wherever needed.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Performing general road maintenance and asphalt repair work, including pothole repairs, patching, crack filling, sealcoating, and other preventative maintenance
  • Assisting with asphalt preparation, placement, raking, shovelling, spreading, and compaction
  • Preparing work areas for asphalt and maintenance activities, including cleaning, sweeping, blowing, and preparing pavement surfaces
  • Operating hand tools and equipment such as plate compactors, rollers, blowers, sweepers, torches, and other road maintenance equipment
  • Assisting with line painting and pavement marking operations
  • Loading, unloading, moving, and properly handling asphalt, aggregates, tools, equipment, and other materials
  • Supporting the crew with road construction and maintenance activities as directed by the Site Supervisor
  • Setting up, maintaining, and removing traffic control devices, signs, cones, barricades, and other work-zone equipment
  • Directing and controlling traffic safely through active construction and maintenance zones
  • Maintaining safe and organized work zones while ensuring traffic control procedures are followed at all times
  • Performing daily equipment and work-site cleanup and assisting with basic equipment maintenance
  • Driving company vehicles and vehicles with trailers when qualified
  • Working closely with operators, labourers, supervisors, and other crew members to complete projects efficiently and safely
  • Identifying and reporting potential hazards, unsafe conditions, pavement issues, or equipment concerns to the Site Supervisor
  • Following all company health and safety policies, traffic control requirements, and safe work procedures
  • Performing additional road maintenance, construction, and general labour duties as assigned

This position requires employees to be physically active and adaptable, as duties can vary from day to day depending on project requirements. Successful candidates should be comfortable working with asphalt and construction materials, operating equipment, performing repetitive physical tasks, and working in and around active roadways.

Pay & Schedule

$25–$35 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and applicable tickets.

  • Overtime paid in accordance with Alberta legislation
  • Lunch provided every day
  • Hands-on training and opportunities to develop additional skills
  • Strong performers will be considered first for advancement and future seasons
  • Monthly pay on the 1st of every month
  • Seasonal position for the remainder of the 2026 construction season
  • Travel-based work across Alberta and potentially out of province
  • 8–12-hour shifts, including weekends and occasional nights
  • Work is outdoors and may be weather dependent

Requirements & Qualifications
