ForJay Machine Shop, A Division of 905368 Ontario Ltd. is ISO 9001:2015 Certified in CNC milling and turning, Blanchard grinding. As well as machining and assembly of weld fixtures and check fixtures. From small quantity (prototype) to high quantity (production). Located minutes from the Windsor/Detroit border crossing allowing for short lead times and just-in-time (JIT) delivery

Full Time position - Monday to Friday, 7am – 3:30pm

Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, as well as manual lathes and milling machines, to fabricate precision parts according to specifications. Responsibilities include loading parts, cycling machines, and monitoring operations to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Perform production runs, communicate effectively with team members about job status and production issues, and ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Must have own tools!

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of standard machine shop operations using both CNC and manual equipment, including lathes, milling machines, drills, saws, and other tools to fabricate metal and plastic parts to precise specifications.
  • Detect and report defective materials, machine malfunctions, or questionable product quality to management or designated personnel promptly to prevent production delays or quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by following prescribed housekeeping and safety procedures, including proper handling of tools, materials, and machinery.
  • Set up and operate machines to perform milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, and sawing operations, ensuring all processes meet quality and safety standards.
  • Perform in-process and final inspection of machined components, using precision measuring instruments (such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges), and accurately document inspection results to ensure product conformance.
  • Complete and maintain all necessary production paperwork, including job travelers, inspection reports, and production logs, ensuring traceability and compliance with internal and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues, share job-related information, and maintain workflow continuity.
  • Assist in other areas of the shop as needed, including machine setup, maintenance tasks, material handling, or supporting other departments to meet overall production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2–5 years of machining experience in a production or job shop setting
  • Proficient in CNC milling operations; manual machining (lathe/mill) experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of speeds and feeds for steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Familiarity with Fanuc and 18M controls; able to read and modify G-code at the machine
  • Experience with CAM software (BobCAD preferred)
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints
  • Skilled in precision measurement using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Basic math skills for dimensions, tolerances, and machine setup
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on part quality
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Safety-conscious with a clean and organized work approach
