We’re looking for temporary Summer Relief Employees to join our Heffley Creek Division, located in Kamloops, British Columbia. With approximately 215 employees, Heffley Creek produces plywood and veneer products, safely and sustainably while producing approximately 180 million square feet of plywood and 28 million square feet of veneer per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Must be a student enrolled in full time study.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
  • Have reliable transportation to site as the work location is not accessible by transit.
  • Previous experience in a forest products industry considered an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Work independently as part of a team dedicated to safely and efficiently producing lumber products.
  • Perform a variety of labour and production duties around the mill supporting the production of our plywood products.
  • Do general clean-up activities such as sweeping, keeping equipment clean, etc.
  • As part of these activities, you will be required to stand long periods of time, frequently twist and bend while working on the production line.
  • Perform most of your work indoors but may be exposed to both hot and cold temperatures from time to time.
  • Be required and able to work on one of the following shifts Monday - Friday:
    • Rotating shift schedule that changes every two weeks, based on the following schedule:
      • Day shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm
      • Evening shift - 3:30pm to 12:00am
