Are you an experienced Fire Alarm service technician, or an Journeyman Electrician looking for a more consistent and stable position that's easier on the body? Would you like guaranteed full-time weekday hours and being home every night? We are looking to add an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to our team who is willing to learn something new, has an eye for detail, an aptitude for troubleshooting, and can write a clear report.

On Site Fire Protection Services Ltd. is a full-service fire protection inspection and service contractor that has been providing quality service to the greater Edmonton area since 2004. Our company is proud to be involved in servicing sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, backflow preventers, and fire hydrants. We are looking to add an experienced sprinkler fitter journeyperson to expand our service team. Successful applicants will need a class 5 drivers license with reliable transportation to and from the shop. Those looking to become part of our integrated team should be dedicated to exceptional customer service, be full-time and ready to work from our shop on the south side of Edmonton on Argyll Road.

Job Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and testing of Fire Alarm Systems
  • Conduct repairs and modifications of fire alarm systems to resolve deficiencies and complete tenant improvements.
  • Troubleshooting and service calls as needed during regular hours and after hours as needed.
  • Fire Alarm System Upgrades and Replacements.
  • Complete inspection reports and service summaries in a timely manner and appropriate style using provided mobile apps and software.
  • Use CAN/ULC and Alberta Fire & Building codes to navigate an inspection
  • Interact positively with customers to help them understand inspection and maintenance requirements, and the condition of their systems
  • Work respectfully and cooperatively with a strong team of technicians
  • Use strong time management and organizational skills while paying attention to detail
  • Use strong problem-solving skills to present practical solutions to access limitations and resolution of system deficiencies
  • Performing or assisting with inspections and service on related fire and safety equipment such as fire sprinkler, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, fire line backflow preventors.
  • Complete ongoing training and qualification requirements
  • Basic upkeep and maintenance of tools, equipment, shop, and vehicles
  • Maintain a professional appearance and present a positive image of On Site Fire Protection at all times.

We offer a good benefit package and great work environment with daily use of work vehicles. Fourty hour work weeks, sick pay, holiday pay, statutory holidays, a free snack bar, and a week off at Christmas.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Alberta Journeyman Electrician and/or CFAA Certified Technician
  • Driver’s Licence - Class 5 non-GDL
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Willingness to learn

Assets

  • SAIT/Lakeland Fire Extinguisher Certification
  • 3-5 years of Service Experience on Fire Alarm Systems
  • Strong knowledge of CAN/ULC and Alberta Fire & Building codes
  • Safety Tickets such as First Aid, Fall Arrest, Etc.

  • Full-Time
  • 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Monday - Friday
