JDCollins Fire Protection is a full-service fire protection contractor specializing in fire alarm, sprinkler, inspection, service and installation throughout the GTA. We are currently seeking a motivated Junior Fire Alarm Technician who is interested in building a long-term career in the fire alarm industry and pursuing their CFAA certification.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience, mentorship and long-term growth within a respected and expanding company.

Position Overview

The Junior Fire Alarm Technician will work alongside senior technicians performing inspections, testing, troubleshooting and servicing of fire alarm systems in commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.

The successful candidate must be committed to completing their CFAA certification and developing into a licensed Fire Alarm Technician. Candidates who are CFAA certified are invited to apply and will be given priority consideration.

Work Schedule & Requirements

Due to the nature of our client needs:

  • working during regular business hours is required;
  • working after hours and occasional evenings may be required;
  • some projects and service calls must be completed outside of standard operating hours;
  • advance notice will be provided whenever possible;
  • flexibility and reliability are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

  • assist with fire alarm inspections and annual testing;
  • support troubleshooting and repair of fire alarm systems;
  • perform device replacements and minor installations;
  • complete documentation and service reports accurately;
  • work safely in compliance with company and regulatory standards;
  • support emergency service calls when required;
  • maintain tools and equipment.

Qualifications

  • enrolment in CFAA courses or willingness to register immediately;
  • strong interest in pursuing CFAA certification or already CFAA certified;
  • basic understanding of electrical systems;
  • valid driver's license;
  • ability to work at heights and lift up to 50lbs;
  • strong communication skills;
  • professional and customer-focused attitude.
