Janevca is seeking passionate and driven Jr. Sous Chef to join our high-performance kitchen team. Opened in 2024, Janevca has quickly established itself as one of British Columbia’s most exciting fine dining destinations, earning recognition in leading culinary publications and notable mentions as a “Best New Restaurant.”

Our kitchen is built around precision, collaboration, and a wood-fire-driven culinary approach, where technique and creativity come together to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work alongside a talented culinary team in a fast-paced, refined environment. As a Jr. Sous Chef at Janevca, you will play a key role in executing dishes to the highest standards while developing your skills in advanced cooking techniques, including wood-fire preparation.

Key Responsibilities

· Execute menu items with consistency, precision, and attention to detail

· Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety

· Work collaboratively across all kitchen stations during service

· Assist in prep, station setup, and breakdown

· Contribute to a positive, professional, and high-performing kitchen culture

· Support the team in delivering a seamless and elevated dining experience

What We’re Looking For

· Previous experience in a professional kitchen (fine dining experience considered an asset)

· Strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure during busy service

· Passion for food, hospitality, and continuous learning

· Interest in or experience with wood-fire or open-flame cooking is an asset

· Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude

· Must have a work permit

Compensation

$26.00 – $29.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level

· Participation in tip pool
