This role offers exposure to Western Canada’s private equity landscape, with the opportunity to develop valuable skills in portfolio management, financial modelling, valuation analysis, and deal flow.

As a key member of PFM’s Investment Team, you will evaluate new opportunities, monitor existing investments, and prepare materials that support informed decision-making. This position works closely with all PFM team members and reports directly to the Associates and Directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis on investment opportunities, including financial modelling, due diligence, valuation and market analysis, participate in the structuring and negotiation of terms, and contribute to the preparation of investment recommendations
  • Support monthly and quarterly portfolio reporting, including performance analysis, return attribution, and other reporting requirements
  • Prepare analytical reports on portfolio companies related to operating performance, strategy, valuation, and exit opportunities
  • Conduct sector, economic, and company-specific research to support the ongoing management of portfolio companies
  • Support the Investment Team and senior leadership on transaction, reporting, and portfolio management initiatives

About You

  • You have strong analytical, financial, and communication skills
  • You are interested in private equity, corporate finance, and portfolio management
  • You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • You are comfortable working with financial information, conducting research, and preparing clear written analysis
  • You are a motivated team player with a strong work ethic and high professional aspirations
  • You enjoy working within a small team but are also a self-starter who can work independently
  • You have an undergraduate degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • You have 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • You are currently enrolled in, or interested in pursuing, the CFA or CBV designation
  • You have strong skills in Microsoft Excel, and have experience in Word, PowerPoint, and CRM software
  • Knowledge of Canadian private equity markets would be considered a strong asset

The role includes regular travel to PFM’s head office in Regina, SK, as well as occasional travel throughout Western Canada and off-hours commitments to support events and stakeholder engagement.
