Compensation

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus a standard benefits package. Licensing and designation costs reimbursed in accordance with firm policy.

Experience Profile

One to three years in financial planning, investment analysis, insurance, retirement planning, or a closely related analytical role. Strong recent graduates with demonstrated technology and AI proficiency will be considered.

Schedule

Full-time, permanent.

About the Role

We are reimagining how comprehensive financial plans are produced at our firm. The traditional model relies almost entirely on the senior analyst’s judgment to build each plan from the ground up. The new model is different: it pairs a technically strong analyst with the firm’s AI-enabled financial planning platform, a defined set of planning standards, and a firm-wide commitment to consistency, quality, and speed.

As our Financial Planning Analyst, Technology & AI, you will be the engine of this new model. You will produce retirement, cashflow, insurance, and investment plans for our Partners and Advisors using the best planning technology available, applying firm-defined assumptions, methodology, and standards on every engagement. You will be the firm’s power user of these tools, and you will be expected to influence what we adopt next.

You are someone who is energized by the intersection of finance and technology. You think clearly, write carefully, and have a real curiosity about how AI tools can be used responsibly to deliver better outcomes for real clients. You understand that AI is powerful but never blind to error — every plan you produce is reviewed and approved by the sponsoring advisor before it reaches the client, and you take pride in producing work that is review-ready the first time.

About OUR COMPANY

We are a mid size financial services firm headquartered in London, Ontario. We have spent more than 30 years building deep, long-term relationships with our clients across wealth management, retirement planning, insurance, and group benefits. Our clients include individuals, families, business owners, and corporate plan sponsors across Ontario and beyond.

We are a partnership-led firm of approximately 35 people who genuinely enjoy working together. We invest in our people, our technology, and the standards that make our advice better year over year. Our tagline — Manage Your Risk. Grow Your Wealth. — is also the test we apply to every plan and every decision.

What You’ll Do

  • Produce comprehensive financial plans for individual, family, and business-owner clients using the firm’s AI-enabled financial planning platform, applying our planning standards and assumption frameworks consistently across every engagement.
  • Build retirement forecasts, retirement income plans, cashflow projections, life insurance needs analyses, investment portfolio analyses, and RESP projections.
  • Coordinate with the sponsoring advisor on every plan: gather inputs, present findings, incorporate feedback, and deliver work that is review-ready and accurate.
  • Communicate directly with clients on behalf of advisors to gather information and discuss plan content; attend client meetings at the advisor’s request.
  • Serve as the firm’s power user of the AI planning platform: maintain assumption libraries, document workflows, identify enhancements, and coach others on how to get the best output from the tools.
  • Pilot and evaluate new AI and productivity tools that could be adopted firm-wide. Tell us what is genuinely useful and what is hype.
  • Track activity by advisor in support of our hourly recovery model; maintain accurate records in EquiSoft (CRM).
  • Stay current with planning principles, regulatory requirements, and best practices — including emerging guidance on the responsible use of AI in financial planning.

What You Bring

Must-haves

  • One to three years of relevant experience, or a strong recent graduate profile with demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Financial Services, Financial Planning, Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP) and either the Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) or Canadian Securities Course (CSC) — in hand at hire, or within 90 days.
  • Willingness to obtain the Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP) designation through FP Canada within 24 months of hire (firm-reimbursed).
  • Demonstrated, hands-on fluency with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or similar) in a professional or academic setting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills — real ones, including formulas, pivot tables, and conditional logic. We will test this.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to focus on complex work for extended periods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to explain technical financial concepts in plain language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct experience with AI-enabled financial planning platforms (Conquest Pathfinder, or similar).
  • Familiarity with NaviPlan, VisionWorks, or similar planning tools.
  • CRM experience, ideally with EquiSoft.
  • Active progress toward the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. We will support a 36 to 60 month completion path.
  • Coursework or designations in data analytics, applied AI, or financial technology (e.g., Google Data Analytics Certificate, AWS / Azure AI Fundamentals).

What We Offer

  • A purpose-built role at the intersection of financial planning and modern AI tooling — not a traditional analyst seat with a thin tech veneer.
  • Direct working relationships with the firm’s Managing Partners, advisors, and operations leadership in a partnership-structured firm where good ideas move quickly.
  • A firm-funded path to QAFP within 24 months and CFP over the longer term.
  • A standard benefits package and a professional development budget.
  • Genuine influence over which AI and planning tools the firm adopts next.
  • A workplace culture that values clarity, integrity, and follow-through.

How to Apply

Reply to this posting with your resume and a brief cover letter. In your cover letter, tell us about one specific way you have used an AI tool to produce better work — what the task was, how you used the tool, and what you learned about its strengths and limits.

Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical skills assessment as part of the interview process. We test Excel and analytical reasoning directly, so come prepared to demonstrate, not describe.

We are equal opportunity employers committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates. Accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process upon request.
