Full job description

About the Job

The Finance Analyst keeps AMZ Prep's billing and cash flowing. You run invoicing across our service lines, manage accounts receivable end to end, and build the profitability analyses that show leadership where we make money and where we leak it.

This is a hands-on, numbers-in-the-weeds role. You generate and validate invoices, chase down overdue accounts, and turn messy data into clean analysis. You use modern tools (Claude, Google AI Studio, automation platforms) to kill the manual work that bogs down most finance functions, so your time goes to analysis that moves the business, not data entry.

5 Major Duties

  • Accounts Receivable Management
  • Invoice Creation & Accuracy
  • Profitability Building
  • Senior Leadership Reporting
  • Finance Automation

Our Values

Win Relentlessly- We work hard and stay resilient when things get difficult. We push to raise the bar every day and are obsessed with delivering results.

Own the Outcome - We take responsibility for the results of our work. We do not wait for someone else to solve problems. When something breaks, we step in, fix it, and ensure it does not happen again.

Be Humbly Confident - We are confident in our abilities but grounded in how we work with others. We communicate directly, stay respectful, and avoid politics or ego.

Obsess Over Data - Data drives how we operate. We use numbers to identify problems, improve processes, and make better decisions.

What You'll Do

1. Accounts Receivable Management

  • Own the full AR cycle from invoice generation to cash collection
  • Manage aging, collections, and customer payment workflows
  • Maintain clean AR data in QuickBooks
  • Drive DSO down and chase overdue accounts
  • Partner with sales and CS on billing disputes and credit decisions

2. Invoice Creation & Accuracy

  • Generate and validate invoices across fulfillment, freight, middle mile, prep, and parcel
  • Ensure billing accuracy against contracts, SOWs, and rate cards
  • Automate invoice workflows using QuickBooks, Navigate (our WMS/OMS), and AI tools
  • Catch and resolve billing errors before they hit customers
  • Build invoice templates and processes that scale with volume

3. Profitability Building

  • Build customer-level, service-line-level, and lane-level profitability analyses
  • Identify margin leaks and surface optimization opportunities
  • Model pricing changes, contract terms, and cost shifts
  • Partner with operations on cost-to-serve analysis
  • Maintain unit economics dashboards for the leadership team

4. Leadership Reporting

  • Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting to Blair, Neha, and the leadership team
  • Build EOS-aligned scorecards and measurables
  • Present findings clearly to non-finance executives
  • Flag risks and opportunities proactively
  • Support board-level reporting and investor updates

5. Finance Automation

  • Use Claude, Google AI Studio, and automation platforms (Zapier, n8n, Make) to eliminate manual finance work
  • Build workflows for invoice review, AR follow-up, variance analysis, and reporting
  • Identify recurring tasks and remove them from human hands
  • Continuously look for ways to do more with less

Performance Metrics

  • DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)
  • AR Aging (% over 30/60/90)
  • Invoice Accuracy Rate
  • Billing Cycle Time
  • Margin Visibility (% of revenue with clean profitability data)
  • Reporting Cycle Time
  • Automation Coverage (% of recurring tasks automated)

Compensation

Base salary plus performance bonus tied to DSO reduction, billing accuracy, and reporting cadence.

What You'll Need

Experience - 4+ years in finance, accounting, or FP&A. Must have direct experience in fulfillment, logistics, 3PL, freight, or final mile. You understand pallet-level economics, freight margins, and cost-to-serve in a warehouse environment.

QuickBooks - Deep daily-driver experience with QuickBooks Online. You can build reports, customize workflows, and pull data through the QuickBooks API.

Excel- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills. Pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, dynamic models, scenario analysis. You build clean, audit-ready models.

AI Tools- You use Claude, Google AI Studio, and similar tools as part of your daily workflow. You have built or operated automated workflows.

Analytical Rigor- You make decisions with data. You can dig into numbers, find the story, and explain it in plain language.

Communication- You can present financial findings to operators, executives, and non-finance teammates without losing them.

EOS Familiarity (Plus)- Experience operating in an EOS/Traction environment is a strong plus.

What Success Looks Like

  • DSO drops within 90 days
  • Invoicing is accurate, timely, and largely automated within 6 months
  • Leadership has a real-time view of customer and service-line profitability
  • Weekly and monthly reporting runs on rails
  • Finance team delivers more output with less manual work over time

Pay: $71,214.99-$102,048.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Commuter benefits
  • Dental care
  • On-site parking
  • Paid time off
  • Wellness program
  • Work from home

Application question(s):

  • Introduce yourself and share a loom video + tell us one thing you've done that is absolutely spectacular. Please make sure the loom / video is viewable!
  • Tell us about your fulfillment, logistics, or freight experience.

We do not hire finance people who have never seen a pallet. What is your operating context? What do you know about how warehouses, freight lanes, or final mile actually make money?

  • Walk us through one number you moved.

A specific finance metric you owned (DSO, margin, accuracy, close cycle, anything). What it was when you arrived, what it was when you left, and how you moved it.

  • What AI tools do you use weekly? What is one workflow you have built or automated using AI? Be specific. If you do not use AI today, tell us that honestly.
  • Pull up QuickBooks and Excel in your head. On a scale of 1-10, how strong are you in each?
  • Whats your salary expectations?
  • Are you looking for full-time or contract?
  • Can you come into office 3x per week?
