Job Overview

About Rowland Emergency Vehicle Products Inc.

At Rowland Emergency Vehicle Products Inc., we build more than emergency vehicles—we help equip the people who protect our communities every day. From fire apparatus to specialty response vehicles, our work makes a difference, and we're looking for someone who wants to make a difference behind the scenes.

We're a growing manufacturing company that values teamwork, innovation, accountability, and people who enjoy solving problems and continuously improving the way things are done.

Ready for Your Next Career Move?

Are you the person everyone comes to when there's a problem in SAP?

Do you enjoy digging into the details, fixing issues, building reports, and making sure the numbers tell the right story?

Maybe you're a Senior Accountant, AP or AR Supervisor, Accounting Manager, or Assistant Controller who's ready to take the next step into a leadership role. If you're looking for an opportunity where you can expand your responsibilities, work closely with senior leadership, and have a real impact on a growing business, we'd love to meet you.

Position Summary

We're looking for a hands-on Financial Controller who enjoys being involved in both the day-to-day accounting operations and the bigger financial picture. This isn't a role where you'll simply review someone else's work—you'll be actively working in SAP Business One every day, performing General Ledger maintenance, GL coding changes, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable adjustments, reconciliations, financial corrections, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, manufacturing costing, inventory analysis, and month-end and year-end activities.

You'll partner with our leadership team to improve financial reporting, streamline processes, support operational decision-making, and help shape the future of our finance function.

If you're looking for a position where you can grow your career while continuing to build your technical expertise, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Assessment

As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will complete a practical SAP Business One navigation assessment designed to showcase their hands-on experience with General Ledger maintenance, GL coding, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable adjustments, reporting, reconciliations, financial corrections, and month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll oversight, and month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Work directly in SAP Business One to perform complex accounting transactions, financial corrections, GL coding changes, reconciliations, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, financial models, and executive reporting.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, cash flow, margins, and operational performance.
  • Create meaningful KPI dashboards and reports that help drive business decisions.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with operations and senior leadership to improve processes and support business growth.
  • Lead and mentor members of the accounting team while continuing to contribute as a hands-on accounting professional.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CPA designation (or actively pursuing completion) is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced, hands-on SAP Business One experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience performing:
  • General Ledger maintenance and GL coding
  • Journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable adjustments
  • Financial reporting and report generation
  • Manufacturing costing and inventory analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Month-end and year-end close
  • Financial corrections and ERP troubleshooting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a willingness to learn, improve, and help others succeed.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Comprehensive benefits program
  • RRSP program
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative and supportive leadership team
  • The opportunity to build your career in a growing manufacturing organization where your ideas and contributions will make a real impact.
