Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and creative Video Editor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a technical aptitude and strong storytelling skills, with experience working on unscripted series. We offer between 24 hours a week, up to 40 hours a week for the right candidate. Editors are expected to work in studio, but may work from home, as workflow allows, on occasion.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of five years editing experience
  • Prior experience working in unscripted television. Scripted television experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to take direction, but work independently
  • Expertise in Adobe Premiere is required. Knowledge of Da Vinci, Adobe After Effects and other post production software is considered an asset.
  • Must be passionate or eager to work in children's media
  • Experience in preparation of deliverables for sound / colour and broadcast, is an asset
  • Deadline oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble recorded footage into cohesive, visually appealing episodes with strong sense of story.
  • Work with Directors to incorporate their notes as well as broadcaster and client feedback
  • Incorporate graphics, animations, and effects as required.
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure all video assets are properly stored and backed up.
  • Prepare files for delivery to post production houses and broadcast

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Experience:

  • editing: 3 years (required)
  • Adobe Premiere: 1 year (required)
  • DaVinci Resolve: 1 year (preferred)

Location:

  • Vancouver, BC (preferred)

Work Location: In person
