Full job description

Job Overview
Revolution Spooling Solutions is hiring experienced Field Specialists to support ESP cable and capillary/control line spooling operations for conventional and SAGD locations. This is a hands-on, safety-critical role working alongside service rigs and other services during ESP pulls and installs. You must maintain a high safety standard, represent Revolution professionally, and consistently deliver quality work that supports the customer’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

Mobilization

  • Report to the Revolution shop at the start of shift, pre-trip inspect truck/tools/equipment, and mobilize to the site.

Safety Leadership (Daily)

  • Maintain a high safety standard: follow procedures, site rules, and stop work if unsafe.
  • Lead daily safety meetings/tailgates in front of crews and other services.
  • Wear H2S monitor and complete bump test/function checks as required.
  • Submit hazard identification / safety observation(s) as required.

Spooling Operations – ESP Pull / Install Support

  • Spot, rig-in/rig-out, and function-check spooling equipment.
  • Remove wellhead fittings within scope and as directed.
  • Purge capillary/control line as required; pressure test, QC, replace burst disc per program.
  • Take and record ESP cable readings as required.
  • Route ESP cable and capillary/control line through sheaves; protect lines from damage.
  • Inspect rigging (chains/slings/overhead gear) before use; remove defective gear from service.
  • Secure cable/line to proper reels/spools and spool while tubing is pulled.
  • Secure downhole end(s) after tubing is out of hole.
  • Disassemble ESP over the well with proper clamps and dropped-object prevention.
  • Remove old cable from spooler, load new cable, and support next-day ESP install and capillary/control line install.

Reporting / Documentation

  • Complete and submit all required documentation (ESP pull report, readings, pressure test/QC, field service forms, safety paperwork).

JSA Ownership (End of Rotation)

  • Update JSAs to reflect lessons learned and evolving best practices.
  • Upload updated JSAs to the company drive, hand to cross-shift, and ensure HSE + management approval is completed before departing the shop for days off.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years oilfield experience
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (acceptable abstract)
  • Strong communication skills (must be able to speak clearly at safety meetings)
  • Strong hazard ID / mitigation ability; adaptable to changing plans; solid troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors, 12-hour shifts, and 14 consecutive days

Employment Conditions

  • Must pass 13-panel drug & alcohol test
  • Must pass 50 lb fitness/functional abilities test
  • Hotel or Camp based while on shift; employee resides where they choose during days off
