Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Flooring Installer Sports Contractor to join our team. This role involves installing high-quality flooring for sports facilities - hardwood, urethane poured floors, artificial turf, rubber, etc. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with flooring installation, construction, and related carpentry skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance athletic environments and contribute to community recreation spaces. Candidates must be willing to travel within NS, NB, PEI, NFLD. Our jobs lead us to recreation centers and schools all over the maritimes, and jobs can last for days to months.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and prepare work areas according to project specifications and blueprints
  • Install various types of flooring materials including urethane poured floors, rubber, hardwood, in sports facilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and installation instructions accurately
  • Utilize hand tools such as saws, drills, and trowels to complete installations efficiently
  • Install hardwood and subfloors using hardwood nailers, staplers, etc.
  • Paint sports lines on gym floors
  • Install gymnasium equipment and wall padding
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in flooring installation, or related construction fields
  • Ability to travel w/license
  • Proficiency with hand tools and basic carpentry skills
  • Experience with caulking, surface preparation, and finishing techniques
  • Construction experience with a focus on sports or recreational facilities is preferred
  • Handyman experience is a plus for versatile project support
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual tasks for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $18.02-$37.02 per hour
