Job Summary

Brook Construction is seeking experienced Carpenters to support earthworks and concrete placement activities in Baie Verte. The successful candidate will perform formwork, scaffolding, shoring, and related carpentry duties in support of concrete placement, rebar installation, and embedments, working safely and productively within a fast-paced industrial construction environment. Project duration is subject to change based on business and project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct, erect, and dismantle formwork for concrete placement, including footings, walls, slabs, and other structural elements.
  • Build and maintain scaffolding and shoring systems in accordance with site safety standards.
  • Support rebar installation and placement of embedments of varying sizes as required.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials (lumber, plywood, engineered forming systems) to specification and drawings.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Work collaboratively with concrete, rebar, and electrical grounding crews to coordinate sequencing of work.
  • Perform general labour duties and assist other trades as needed to support project productivity.
  • Maintain, inspect, and safely handle hand and power tools and carpentry equipment.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, policies, and standards of conduct at all times.
  • Multi-task effectively and maintain productivity in line with project schedule demands.
  • Complete required site orientation and training prior to commencing work.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certified Carpenter (Red Seal or provincial certification preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial/commercial construction.
  • Prior experience with formwork, scaffolding, and shoring on a construction or industrial site is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in an outdoor, camp-based industrial setting.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts at a remote camp.
  • Reliable and able to work as part of a team in a remote, multi-trade work environment.

Pay: $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 84.0 per week
