Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Counter Attendant to join our team. This position is for Monday to Friday during the day. Please apply only if you are available for that time.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food items, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and possess strong multitasking skills to handle busy periods effectively. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in the food industry while delivering a positive dining experience to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
  • Operate cash registers, handle cash transactions, and process payments efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area and customer eating area, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
  • Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
  • Manage time effectively during peak hours to serve customers promptly without compromising quality
  • Assist with food preparation, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper food storage practices
  • Follow all sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for both staff and customers

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or cashiering within a restaurant or food industry setting
  • Familiarity with POS systems for quick and accurate transactions
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and calculating totals
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Kitchen experience or restaurant background is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
  • Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance customer experience and sales
