Overview

Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is a modern Asian-inspired fast casual brand on a mission to turn the world's most craveable bites into the next great food staples. Our first shop opened in New York City in 2021, and since then we are now built for everywhere —serving guests from our shops across the U.S. and Canada, inside some of the most iconic venues in sports & entertainment and in the world's leading retailers.

We are currently seeking a Cook to oversee the daily kitchen operations of our shop. This role requires focus, speed, and the ability to multitask during peak periods. Cooks are responsible for preparing food to exact standards with zero waste, all while keeping a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Start and maintain steamers, fryers, and grill.
  • Maintain proper fridge and freezer par levels.
  • Notify management of low stock items.
  • Cook 3–5 tickets simultaneously with consistency.
  • Follow exact cook times and recipe variations.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Filter fryer oil daily; change oil and clean fryers as needed.
  • Clean station and assist with dishes throughout shift.
  • Complete full kitchen cleaning and closing checklist.
  • Support the Expediter (Expo) when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple food tickets (3–5 simultaneously) while maintaining consistent food quality, exact cook times, and recipe precision across grills, fryers, and steamers.
  • Thorough understanding of local food safety regulations and a commitment to strict sanitation standards, including executing deep-cleaning and closing checklists.
  • Experience monitoring kitchen inventory, maintaining strict fridge and freezer par levels, and proactively tracking stock shortages.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment, specifically executing daily fryer oil filtration and deep-cleaning protocols.
  • A strong collaborative mindset with the willingness to jump in where needed.

Why Join Us?

  • Health Benefits after 3 months
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Work with a great, supportive team!

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
