Production Planner/Administrator - Aldergrove, BC

IBP (Imperial Building Products) is a Canadian manufacturer of lightweight steel framing and structural solutions, supporting builders, architects, and engineers with high-quality systems designed for performance, efficiency, and safety on today’s job sites. Now a part of CGC, we offer a reliable portfolio of industry-leading products, with five manufacturing facilities across Canada.

IBP is currently recruiting a Production Planner/ Administrator for our steel stud plant, based in Aldergrove, BC.

It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Customer Service team, the Production Administrator/Planner is responsible for planning production of finished good products, raw material replenishment, and inventory management ensuring no supply interruptions using standardized processes. The position will transition into sole responsibility for production planning activities for multiple production lines. Execution must happen in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner while maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

· Utilizing Oracle system, review suggested recommendations and exceptions generated by the manufacturing plan for multiple production lines.

· Analyze sales order demand to prioritize and plan production available dates and collaborate with plant on sequencing production for efficient operations.

· Schedule finished good production to service customer orders, safety stock, and forecast.

· Communicate production schedules with production department at the plant and other stakeholders as needed.

· Monitor the execution of production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.

· Adjust schedule as needed or notify customer service of any delay in product availability.

Replenishment

· Utilizing Oracle, assist with the monitoring of supply on a daily basis and act on the raw material recommendations and exceptions generated by the plan.

· Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to establish needed Blanket Purchase Orders and sourcing rules, and manage all activities associated with Blanket Orders.

· Assist in the management of all activities for locally purchased raw materials. Engage Strategic Sourcing as needed.

· Work closely with Strategic Sourcing and Inventory Planning to establish and maintain raw material inventory levels and re-order policies.

Interplant Transfers

· Utilizing Oracle processes, replenish transfer items following recommendations and exceptions generated by the plan.

· Perform all duties with safety in mind and actively participate in all safety programs.

· Work closely with the plant Production/Quality Departments to maintain that the highest quality products are produced and shipped to customers.

· Perform all duties in a cost-effective manner. Work closely with Strategic Sourcing to ensure that low cost, high-quality raw materials are being purchased.

· Work closely with the Transportation Department to ensure that cost-effective carriers and backhauls are being utilized for transferred finished goods.

Other Duties

· Attend Continuous Improvement (CI) meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams on CI projects and action items.

· Take ownership of assigned safety programs, including coordinating required documentation, follow-up, and communication.

· Support a variety of plant safety activities, such as inspections, observations, training coordination, and corrective-action tracking

· Perform general administrative duties, maintain organized records, and provide support for plant projects and operational priorities as needed.

· Provide back up support for the order desk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain and logistics, business management or similar fields preferred; production planning, and supply chain experience will be considered a great asset.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the manufacturing, warehouse or logistics field.
  • Supply Chain Planning experience using Oracle or comparable ERP planning tools
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Oracle.
  • Business-minded, people and results oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels of employees.

Additional Information

Hours - 8am-4:30p, Monday - Friday

Salary Range- $63,000- $65,000 per annum

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
