Full job description

We are searching for a positive and motivated person to join our small team. We welcome your application if you are dependable and a team player.

Become a valued member of our team, maintaining the gardens and planters for our clients.

Some task are including but not limited to the following:

  • Weeding & cultivating flower beds
  • Edging flower beds
  • Pruning, deadheading, staking and dividing plants
  • Planting and maintenance of annuals in gardens and containers
  • Planting perennials and shrubs in new landscapes
  • Watering & fertilizing gardens
  • Spreading topsoil and mulch

The successful applicant will:

  • Possess a interest in gardening, enjoys physical work and working outdoors in nature
  • Be physically fit and energetic with great work ethic. Able to lift, bend and carry effectively. Able to be active all day and walk for long periods of time.
  • Possess an attention to detail
  • Be willing to listen, learn, follow direction
  • Be willing and able to work outside in all weather
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Possess interpersonal skills and ability to connect positively with other crew members

Job Type

  • Seasonal work, early April to September
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

Healthy and safe workplace

  • CSA approved steel toed boots required. All other safety equipment supplied. Uniforms provided at no cost
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act

Location

  • You must have your own, reliable transport to get to our shop each morning in Port Carling
  • We are not accessible by public transport
  • Please only apply if you are willing and able to commute to our location

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Clean G or G2 drivers license preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience working with plants, farm work or outdoors in any physical job an asset but not essential. We are happy to train a willing and keen person.

Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
