Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Harvesting Labourer to join our agricultural team. This role involves working outdoors to assist with the harvesting and maintenance of crops, ensuring high-quality produce for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and an interest in organic farming. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices and develop practical skills in crop management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with crop harvesting using hand tools and mechanical equipment
  • Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution across fields
  • Perform routine gardening tasks such as planting, pruning, and weeding
  • Operate basic machinery and tools related to harvesting activities
  • Conduct quality checks on crops to ensure freshness and adherence to standards
  • Support with general farm maintenance and cleanliness of work areas
  • Lift heavy loads safely during harvesting and transportation of produce
  • Follow safety protocols and proper handling procedures at all times

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of horticulture, gardening, or farming practices is preferred
  • Mechanical knowledge useful for operating farm equipment and tools
  • Experience with irrigation systems is a plus
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic trees/crop care
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Prior experience in agriculture or related fields is advantageous but not required
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
