Full job description

Krazy Cherry Fruit Company Ltd. is seeking reliable and hardworking seasonal agricultural workers to perform various duties related to fruit and vegetable production, harvesting and general orchard and farm maintenance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plant, cultivate, maintain and harvest various fruits and vegetables.
  • Perform general orchard and farm maintenance, including pruning, thinning, training and tying trees.
  • Harvest, sort, grade and handle fruits and vegetables according to quality standards.
  • Apply fertilizers and soil amendments as directed.
  • Assist with spraying operations, including the application of pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, where properly trained and legally authorized.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery, tools, irrigation systems and agricultural equipment.
  • Monitor crops for signs of pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies.
  • Perform irrigation duties, including setting up, operating and maintaining irrigation systems.
  • Remove weeds, branches, debris and unwanted vegetation from orchards and fields.
  • Assist with planting, grafting, budding and maintaining fruit trees and other crops.
  • Load, unload and transport harvested produce, supplies and agricultural materials.
  • Clean, maintain and organize farm equipment, tools and work areas.
  • Perform general farm labour and other related agricultural duties as required.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and supervisor instructions.

Employment Requirements:

  • No formal education required.
  • Previous agricultural experience is an asset but not required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Training will be provided.

Working Conditions:

Seasonal, full-time employment. Work involves outdoor agricultural activities, physically demanding tasks and variable schedules depending on weather, crop conditions and seasonal requirements.
