Full job description

Are you an experienced Family Practice Physician looking to join a supportive, well-established clinic in Calgary? This full-time opportunity offers the chance to step into a stable practice environment where you can focus on delivering high-quality patient care from day one.

The clinic is seeking a physician who ideally has an established patient panel, although this is not required, and who is comfortable working independently within an established practice. You’ll be joining a collaborative and dependable team that values continuity of care, strong patient relationships, and a positive, collegial work environment.

This role is ideal for a personable and reliable physician who is looking for long-term practice stability, professional autonomy, and the opportunity to work within a respected local clinic that prioritizes teamwork and patient-centered care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Maintain and manage an established patient panel, ensuring continuity of care and timely follow-up.
  • Conduct routine examinations, preventative health screenings, and wellness visits in accordance with current clinical guidelines.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and order and interpret diagnostic tests as required.
  • Provide patient education and counseling related to disease prevention, lifestyle management, and treatment options.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, allied health professionals, and external healthcare providers as needed.
  • Accurately document patient encounters, medical history, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Adhere to all clinic policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements set by governing bodies.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and respectful clinic environment by working closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date medical knowledge and participate in ongoing professional development as required.

Education:

  • Medical Degree (MD) is required.
  • Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program is an asset.

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Physician is required, preferably within a Family Practice setting.
  • Experience managing an independent patient panel is considered a strong asset.

Skills:

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach to care.
  • Dependable, professional, and committed to long-term practice stability.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Base Salary:

  • Fee-for-service billing model.

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Must have flexibility to work weekdays and weekends.

Additional Notes:

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in Canada to be considered for employment.
