Family Law Associate — Unified LLP (Toronto)

Location: Toronto, Ontario
Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time | Hybrid with the option for full-time in-person if preferred.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Associate with a minimum of 3

years of dedicated family law experience. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced practice, demonstrates strong judgment, and can independently manage files while contributing to a team-oriented department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload, including divorce, parenting/decision-making and parenting time, support issues, property division, and domestic violence matters.
  • Provide strategic, high-quality legal advice and representation to clients.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, financial statements, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Attend court (case conferences, motions, trials), mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on complex matters and file strategy.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislation, rules, and case law developments.
  • Build and sustain strong, professional client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience practicing family law in Ontario.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Professionalism, empathy, and strong client-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
