Day in the Life

Roll up your sleeves and jump into the fast-paced world of construction as a General Labourer. In this role, you’ll perform a variety of hands-on tasks to support daily site operations and keep projects moving forward.

You’ll work alongside experienced crews, contributing to activities such as site preparation, material handling, and general labour support across different stages of construction work.

You’ll play an important role in maintaining job site safety, organization, and productivity while helping deliver work that improves the communities we serve. Safety is a core part of everything we do, and you’ll be expected to follow all site protocols and contribute to a strong safety culture on every job.

This role is seasonal, typically beginning in May and ending in November each year.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour duties including shoveling, raking, lifting, and site cleanup
• Assist with site setup, material handling, and movement of tools and equipment
• Support equipment operators and skilled trades with day-to-day tasks
• Help prepare and maintain work areas to ensure efficient and safe operations
• Follow grade direction and assist with basic layout or alignment tasks as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all health and safety procedures and participate in daily safety activities

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Previous experience in construction, general labour, or outdoor work is preferred
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Basic familiarity with hand tools and construction equipment is an asset
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
• High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset
