PPM Business System Analyst 2

Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Edmonds C02

Employment type: Permanent Region: Lower Mainland

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid

Annual salary: $ 95,000.00 - 102,200.00

What you'll do

1. Develops and recommends project standards and controls aimed at increasing the quality of project and portfolio related
information within all aspects of the integrated PPM solution by: evaluating the effectiveness of existing standards and
controls; developing new standards; modifying existing standards; defining quality checks and controls; and providing
project management and functional support to team members and contractors responsible for implementation of quality
assurance support applications.

2. Coordinates and conducts audit activities related to critical project scope, schedule and budget information contained
within all components of the integrated PPM solution using a variety of ad hoc and system based tools and techniques.

3. Identifies issues and opportunities to improve the integrated PPM solution with respect to people, processes and tools
through the analysis of audit information, and creates and defines enhancement requests and follows up to define user
requirements and recommend potential solutions.

4. Provides advice and technical assistance to project teams to improve the management of project information within the
integrated PPM solution in line with defined project standards and controls; guides teams to adapt the most appropriate
course of action to address their business needs; develops and demonstrates new processes and procedures; develops
new training materials; prepares new formal and informal training sessions to be delivered by self or others; and follows up
on special non-standard requests for integrated PPM solution assistance. Performs quality assurance/quality control for low
complexity projects.

5. Provides quality improvement for the integrated PPM solution as a member of the PPM Continuous Improvement
Program team by: identifying, analyzing and documenting new project and portfolio management related issues and
improvement opportunities within the integrated PPM solution; creating and documenting system change requests; and
working with the PPM Sustainment Team to deliver system enhancements.

6. Maintains currency with emerging technologies and developments in the field of project controls and standards by
developing collegial and working relationships with internal and external groups working within that field in order to share
best practices and lessons learned. Evaluates and recommends new technology and practices and implements approved
recommendations.

7. Assigns work to the PPM Business System Analyst 1 and may perform some of the duties of the PPM Business System
Analyst 1 job.

8. Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.

What you bring

  • Degree in Business, Engineering or Science; plus five (5) years experience in a Business Analyst role or equivalent
experience supporting project management systems and reporting.

OR

  • Diploma in a technical or business related field of study; plus seven (7) years experience in a Business Analyst role or
equivalent experience supporting project management systems and reporting.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with using project management systems.

  • Experience using SAP, Primavera P6, and SharePoint. Professional courses on project management, business analysis,
analytics, cost analysis and scheduling are considered assets.
