Medical Laser Technician – Part-Time

Merlot Beauty Laser Clinic is looking for an experienced, professional, and client-focused Medical Laser Technician to join our growing team on a part-time basis.

We are looking for someone who is not only confident and experienced with laser treatments, but who also genuinely cares about providing an exceptional client experience. The ideal candidate is reliable, positive, clean and organized, receptive to feedback, eager to continue learning, and enjoys working as part of a supportive team.

This is not an entry-level laser position. Previous hands-on experience performing laser treatments in a professional clinical or medical aesthetics environment is required.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities may include:

• Performing laser hair removal treatments
• Performing laser tattoo removal treatments
• Conducting client consultations and assessing treatment suitability
• Assessing skin type, hair characteristics, tattoo ink colours, treatment progress, contraindications, and other relevant factors before treatment
• Selecting and adjusting treatment parameters safely and appropriately
• Educating clients on treatment expectations, preparation, aftercare, and recommended treatment intervals
• Maintaining detailed and accurate client treatment notes
• Monitoring client response throughout treatment and making appropriate clinical adjustments when necessary
• Maintaining a clean, sanitary, organized, and professional treatment environment
• Following all clinic treatment protocols, safety procedures, and infection-control standards
• Providing a warm, professional, and client-first experience from consultation through treatment and follow-up
• Supporting the team during busy periods and contributing to the overall cleanliness and organization of the clinic

Experience We're Looking For

Required:

• Previous professional experience performing laser hair removal
• Strong understanding of Fitzpatrick skin types and safe treatment of different skin tones
• Understanding of laser safety, contraindications, treatment endpoints, and appropriate treatment intervals
• Strong consultation and client communication skills
• Excellent sanitation and infection-control practices
• Ability to maintain accurate treatment documentation
• Professional, reliable, punctual, and organized

Strongly preferred:

• Hands-on experience with the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus
• Experience using both 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd
• Previous laser tattoo removal experience
• Experience with the Candela PicoWay
• Experience treating multicoloured tattoos and/or cosmetic tattoos

Candidates with strong laser hair removal experience who have not worked with every device or treatment listed above may still be considered.

Schedule

This is a part-time position with specific recurring days/shifts required.
