About Us
At BGC Fort McMurray, we are committed to creating safe, supportive, and inclusive spaces where children and youth can thrive. As part of the national BGC movement, we provide life-changing programs and services that support young people and their families.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across all facets of the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, community-minded leader to guide our team in advancing our mission and increasing our impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead, coach, and develop staff while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Operations & Administration: Oversee day-to-day operations, facilities, legal obligations, and compliance.
- Finance & Risk: Develop budgets, manage financial resources, ensure fiscal accountability, and oversee audits.
- Fund Development: Lead fundraising strategies, grant applications, donor relations, and community partnerships.
- Human Resources: Recruit, support, and retain qualified staff and volunteers. Promote staff development and performance management.
- Board Relations: Act as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors; provide regular reports and strategic guidance.
- Communications & Advocacy: Serve as chief spokesperson and build strong relationships with stakeholders, government agencies, and the media.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of senior leadership experience; nonprofit experience is an asset.
- Strong skills in finance, human resources, fundraising, public speaking, and strategic planning.
- Proven ability to engage and inspire diverse teams, stakeholders, and community partners.
- A passion for youth development and community building.
