Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tile Setter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and experience in tile laying, ensuring high-quality installations that meet our clients' specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a solid understanding of blueprints and schematics, and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. As a Tile Setter, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the aesthetic appeal and functionality of residential and commercial spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to determine layout and installation requirements.
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary materials.
  • Measure and cut tiles to fit designated areas accurately.
  • Lay tiles according to design plans, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
  • Apply grout, caulking, and other finishing materials to complete installations.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians as needed.
  • Operate heavy equipment safely when required for site preparation or material transport.
  • Conduct restoration work as needed on existing surfaces prior to new tile installation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in tile laying or flooring installation is essential.
  • Familiarity with construction techniques including concrete forming, masonry, carpentry, and plumbing is preferred.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to tile setting.
  • Knowledge of construction estimating practices is beneficial for project planning.
  • Experience with concrete finishing is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
