ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Event Medic / First Responder to provide immediate medical assistance at various events. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees, staff, and participants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. The successful candidate will be expected to provide first line of care on-site, working closely with our event coordination and security teams to ensure every event runs smoothly and safely.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide first aid and emergency medical care to event attendees, staff, and participants as needed
- Advise coordinators on crowd safety and medical logistics
- Assess injuries or medical conditions quickly and accurately to determine appropriate response
- Administer medications or treatments in accordance with established protocols
- Maintain clear documentation of all medical incidents and treatments provided
- Collaborate with event staff, emergency services, and healthcare professionals to coordinate responses
- Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are stocked, clean, and ready for use
- Assist with heavy lifting or moving patients when necessary, adhering to safety guidelines
- Stay alert and prepared to respond promptly during large-scale events or emergencies
- Conduct pre-event venue safety walk-throughs and risk assessments
- Maintain incident logs and complete post-event reports
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years of field or event medical experience
- Prior hospital experience or background in patient care strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Current EMT, Paramedic, or RN license province of Ontario
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, or other relevant emergency response training is preferred
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions during emergencies
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, discreet demeanor
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, or extended shifts as needed
- Valid certification or licensure in emergency medical services (EMS) is a plus
- Available evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable transportation to event locations
- Bilingual (English/French or other) - would be considered a plus
