ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Event Medic / First Responder to provide immediate medical assistance at various events. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees, staff, and participants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. The successful candidate will be expected to provide first line of care on-site, working closely with our event coordination and security teams to ensure every event runs smoothly and safely.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide first aid and emergency medical care to event attendees, staff, and participants as needed
  • Advise coordinators on crowd safety and medical logistics
  • Assess injuries or medical conditions quickly and accurately to determine appropriate response
  • Administer medications or treatments in accordance with established protocols
  • Maintain clear documentation of all medical incidents and treatments provided
  • Collaborate with event staff, emergency services, and healthcare professionals to coordinate responses
  • Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are stocked, clean, and ready for use
  • Assist with heavy lifting or moving patients when necessary, adhering to safety guidelines
  • Stay alert and prepared to respond promptly during large-scale events or emergencies
  • Conduct pre-event venue safety walk-throughs and risk assessments
  • Maintain incident logs and complete post-event reports

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of field or event medical experience
  • Prior hospital experience or background in patient care strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
  • Current EMT, Paramedic, or RN license province of Ontario
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, or other relevant emergency response training is preferred
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions during emergencies
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, discreet demeanor
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, or extended shifts as needed
  • Valid certification or licensure in emergency medical services (EMS) is a plus
  • Available evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable transportation to event locations
  • Bilingual (English/French or other) - would be considered a plus
