COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Holland Daze brings quality cannabis products and smoking accessories together with knowledgeable, friendly and efficient customer service.

We are hiring a dependable Budtender / Cannabis Retail Associate for our Pickering location. This position involves more than operating a cash register. Team members are responsible for customer service, sales, inventory, delivery-day work, restocking, cleaning and completing assigned store duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer service and sales

  • Welcome customers and identify their needs, preferences and budget
  • Recommend products through education without making medical claims
  • Explain cannabis formats, THC/CBD, product differences and responsible use
  • Stay informed about new products, existing products and promotions
  • Promote applicable sales and loyalty programs
  • Provide professional service and de-escalate difficult customer situations
  • Verify identification and ensure all customers entering the store are legally permitted
  • Follow all company policies and applicable cannabis retail regulations

Technology and transactions

  • Operate the POS, debit terminal and store iPads accurately
  • Process in-store purchases, online orders, returns and exchanges
  • Search for products and inventory using store systems
  • Handle cash and balance transactions accurately
  • Maintain speed and accuracy during busy periods

Inventory and delivery days

  • Receive, count and verify product deliveries
  • Match products using names, SKUs, quantities and case counts
  • Put products into their assigned locations accurately
  • Restock shelves, displays, accessories and the beverage fridge
  • Maintain an organized stockroom
  • Report missing products, damaged products and inventory discrepancies immediately
  • Break down and dispose of delivery boxes and packaging
  • Complete assigned delivery tasks before leaving the shift

Store operations

  • Complete assigned opening and closing duties
  • Keep the sales floor, counters, stockroom and staff areas clean and organized
  • Take out garbage and recycling as required
  • Follow written task lists and communicate unfinished work to management
  • Work independently when required and support coworkers during busy periods
  • Maintain a professional and positive environment for customers and coworkers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 19 years old
  • Valid CannSell certification or willingness to obtain it before the first scheduled shift
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills
  • Comfortable learning POS systems, iPads and inventory software
  • Dependable, punctual and able to complete assigned work without constant supervision
  • Able to work quickly while maintaining accuracy
  • Honest and responsible when handling cash and regulated inventory
  • Cannabis product knowledge is an asset, but strong applicants willing to learn will be considered

EXPERIENCE

Previous cannabis retail experience is an asset but is not required.

Experience in a fast-paced customer-service environment is strongly preferred. This may include retail, grocery, restaurants, McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, hospitality, casinos or similar high-volume workplaces.

AVAILABILITY

Holland Daze operates seven days a week, with shifts beginning as early as 7:00 a.m. and ending as late as 11:00 p.m.

Applicants must provide accurate ongoing availability. Weekday, evening and weekend availability is required. Early-morning availability is an asset.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach and safely use a step ladder
  • Ability to move delivery cases and restock products throughout the shift

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Job type: Permanent, part-time
Expected hours: Approximately 20–30 hours per week
Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour
Location: 6415 Erin Mills Pkwy

Work arrangement: In person

Employment may be conditional on satisfactory reference and background screening.

Holland Daze is looking for people who take ownership of their work. Reliability, attendance, attention to detail and completing assigned responsibilities are essential to this role.

Pay: $17.95-$19.00 per hour
