Job Summary

GJ Cattle & Crop Inc. is a farming and ranching operation located near Marquis, SK. We have a backgrounding yard and cow-calf operation.

We are searching for a pen rider, who will check cattle throughout the morning, and will spend the remainder of the day doing various ranch tasks. Previous experience is an asset.

This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of cattle health, and ability to competently ride a horse while checking the cattle.

Duties

  • Pen ride through the cattle, and complete necessary treating.
  • Would also include helping at our brandings, weaning, etc.
  • Other duties may include yard maintenance, equipment operation, and assisting with the cow-calf herd.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete daily tasks efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a feedlot setting or extensive cattle knowledge.
  • Class 5 license
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as needed throughout the day.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently
