Full job description

Do you see opportunities where others see supply challenges?
Do you believe great purchasing isn’t just about buying — it’s about enabling the entire business to run smoothly?

At Fit Foods, we believe in the transformative power of nutrition.

Our mission is simple: HAPPIER LIVES THROUGH HEALTHIER LIVING.

For 30 years, we’ve fueled active, healthy lifestyles through innovation, quality, and purpose. Our products are proudly crafted in Canada and enjoyed in over 100 countries. But the story is far from over — in fact, the next chapter is just beginning.

And that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Purchaser

A proactive problem solver. A relationship builder who ensures the right materials are in the right place at the right time.

You will play a critical role in supporting production, R&D, marketing, and beyond — ensuring our manufacturing operations run seamlessly through effective procurement and supplier management.

What gets us excited?

A Detail-Driven Planner
You stay close to the details — reviewing daily production reports, managing purchase orders, and ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules, including packaging and co-packer requirements.

A Strong Supplier Partner
You build and maintain solid relationships with suppliers — confirming shipments, resolving issues, and conducting regular reviews to ensure performance, reliability, and alignment with forecasts.

A Strategic Sourcing Mindset
You don’t just buy — you think ahead. You evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, and capability, negotiate effectively, and identify cost-saving opportunities that support the business.

An Organized & Analytical Operator
You maintain accurate procurement data, track orders, monitor inventory alignment, and generate reports that provide insights into purchasing activity, supplier performance, and market trends.

A Cross-Functional Collaborator
You work closely with Production, Scheduling, R&D, QA, Sales, Marketing, Accounting, and Receiving — proactively communicating risks, delays, and opportunities to keep everyone aligned.

A Quality & Compliance Advocate
You ensure all supplier documentation is complete and up to date, and support issue resolution and product inspection to meet quality standards.

A Proactive Problem Solver
You anticipate challenges, act quickly on delays or shortages, and keep stakeholders informed — always focused on solutions and continuous improvement.

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Experience sourcing packaging materials (corrugate, cartons, labels, inserts, etc.)
  • Experience working with international suppliers is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canadian food labelling requirements is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Aility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are: Curious, purpose-driven, solution-oriented, an active listener, and someone who shows up with a positive, collaborative attitude.

Education:

  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent experience.
  • PMAC designation (or in progress) preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel required
  • Experience with SAP is an asset

Why join Fit Foods?

Because here, your impact goes beyond purchasing — you help power everything we do.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, fast-moving team that values accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive benefits
  • Work-life balance
  • Growth opportunities in a purpose-driven company

Are you ready to help keep our operations running strong and our products moving forward?

Apply now and be part of our next chapter.
