Full job description

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, the Junior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical support across both sales and costing. The successful candidate will not only be strong analytically, but also a strong team player who can work across the organization. The candidate will be curious, always looking for ways to improve the business both from a process as well as a bottom-line perspective. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to gain experience in financial analysis in a growing and dynamic company.

Key Responsibilities:

· Sales Analysis

o Working closely with the sales department to conduct gross margin analysis on items and identifying root causes for variances in gross margin

o Conducting analysis on customer buying patterns and identifying high-moving items, providing sales representatives analysis on which customers and items to focus on to further sales growth

o Utilizing business intelligence tools (Power BI) to create reports to help drive sales

o Understanding customer deals, analyzing their ROI and administering the payment to the customer

o Conducting analysis on rebate structures and monitoring compliance with rebate agreements

o Working with the sales reps to administer pricing changes and ensure profitability is maintained

o Maintain the master customer database and ensure accuracy

· Costing Analysis

o Working closely with the plant manager and supervisors to identify key drivers of increases/decreases in cost of goods sold

o Improve productivity by analyzing productivity on machine usage, SKU’s, special jobs and labour usage

o Identify and explain job card variances

o Utilizing business intelligence tools (Power BI) to create reports to help drive productivity

o Ad-hoc operations analysis as required

· Other

o Other financial analysis that may be required by the business team

Required Skills:

· University degree in business/accounting

· Strong team player with a ‘’can-do” attitude and passion for excellence.

· Strong analytical skills

· Strong organizational skills

· Strong communication skills

· Very comfortable with systems and technology, good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

· Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI is an asset
