Company is seeking an Entry Level Drafter in our Calgary, AB office to provide estimating and administrative support to the Project Management teams·

The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, a solid understanding of steel fabrication processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and fabricators.

  • Experience with AutoCAD is preferred
  • Possess good verbal, written, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Initiative to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Qualified candidates should have some experience reading structural and architectural drawings
  • Team Player
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in structural steel drafting
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar drafting software
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

  • Complete administrative tasks and manage documentation associated with specific projects.
  • Carry out cost estimates and complete proposals for new opportunities.
  • Issue work orders to the manufacturing team & track manufacturing progress.
  • Treat all customers, internal and external, with respect, courtesy and integrity.
  • Maintain effective relations with the project management and manufacturing teams through an excellent attitude, good knowledge, efficient work practices and proper documentation.
