Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our educational team. Duties

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives
• Deliver instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and literature, incorporating creative writing and journalism where appropriate
• Utilize instructional design principles and learning technology to enhance classroom engagement and understanding
• Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations
• Provide individualized tutoring and mentoring to support diverse learning needs, including special education students
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress effectively with students, parents, and administration
• Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school initiatives
• Stay current with developments in linguistics, Chicago Manual of Style standards, AP style, proofreading techniques, and library services to enrich teaching practices
• Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices

Experience

• Prior experience teaching English at the higher education or secondary level is preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including private school settings or Montessori environments is advantageous
• Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and classroom management abilities are essential
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, research methods, literacy education strategies, and the use of learning technology is highly desirable
• Previous roles involving tutoring, academic advising, or education administration will be considered a plus
• Candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics or related field; advanced degrees or certifications related to teaching are preferred
