Full job description

Bilingual needed, Mandarin and English

We are looking for a highly organized, responsible, and English and Chinese fluent Family Education Manager to support the academic development of three school-aged children while assisting with family scheduling and household coordination.

This is not a traditional nanny or housekeeping position. The primary focus of this role is to support children's learning, academic progress, organization, and daily routines while helping ensure the household operates smoothly.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, values education, and is interested in building a long-term relationship with a family.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Support & Learning Management (Primary Responsibility)

  • Supervise and support daily homework completion
  • Assist children with understanding school assignments and coursework
  • Develop and maintain study schedules and learning routines
  • Monitor academic progress and identify areas requiring additional support
  • Help children improve organization, time management, and study habits
  • Coordinate with tutors and educational service providers when necessary
  • Provide regular updates to parents regarding academic performance and learning challenges

School & Extracurricular Coordination

  • Communicate professionally with teachers, coaches, and educational institutions
  • Monitor school communications, deadlines, projects, and events
  • Assist with educational planning and activity scheduling
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings or school-related events when required

Transportation & Schedule Management

  • Drive children to and from school, tutoring sessions, sports, and extracurricular activities
  • Coordinate and manage family calendars and schedules
  • Ensure children arrive on time and are properly prepared for activities

Household & Family Support

  • Assist with family-related administrative tasks
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate service providers
  • Handle light errands and household organization
  • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the household

Qualifications

Required

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid Ontario G driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to support elementary and middle school level academics
  • Responsible, proactive, patient, and dependable
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred

  • Educated in Canada (secondary school, college, or university)
  • Familiarity with the Ontario education system
  • Experience as a teacher, tutor, educational assistant, childcare professional, or family assistant
  • Experience supporting children with executive functioning, attention, or learning challenges
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • Primarily afternoon and evening hours
  • Schedule based on school and extracurricular activities
  • Occasional weekend support may be required with advance notice

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

Expected compensation range:

  • $40–$60 CAD per hour
  • Approximately $85,000–$125,000+ annually for a full-time position
