Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead small group tutoring sessions with students aged 9–18, guiding discussions and answering questions.
  • Use provided materials to deliver structured lessons, ensuring students understand SAT concepts.
  • Apply effective teaching strategies and strong communication skills to build academic skills.
  • Keep students engaged and motivated to take ownership of their learning.
  • Provide clear, targeted feedback so parents can monitor progress.
  • Support New Canadians in strengthening English language skills.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages students to rise to the challenge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong communication skills and passion for learning
  • Open to training and professional development
  • Previous SAT tutoring experience is an asset

Work Hours

(September onward) 4:00–8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Locations

Both Vancouver (1985 West Broadway Vancouver) and North Vancouver (889 Harbourside Dr.) are all hiring for the start of our fall semester (September 8, 2026). Please check that you can commute to both campuses before applying, as this position covers both.

Teaching Subjects

We offer a variety of subjects to applicants. Students are in elementary and high school, and we are looking for tutors comfortable with any of the following subjects:

  • SAT English
  • AP English Literature
  • IB English
  • BC English 8-12

Please note that this is not English as a second language instruction position. We do not require services for IELTS, TEFL, etc. tutors at this time.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of relevant teaching experience
  • Must know the subject thoroughly and be able to teach effectively
  • Degree in related area is an asset
  • Familiarity with elementary and/or high school curriculum in BC is an asset.
  • Familiarity with AP (for Math/Science) and/or SAT (for English/Math) is an asset.
  • Commitment to academic integrity.
  • Excellent conversation skills with school aged students.
  • Good work ethics - punctual, honest, organized, goal oriented.

Work Hours:

Classes take place between the hours of 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on weekdays and (optionally) 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays. In summer, our hours move to 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, though class times are flexible.
