Full job description

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Building Engineering Division to work out of our Ottawa office.
MTE Consultants is a multidisciplinary engineering firm that has been shaping Ontario since 1985, with offices in Kitchener, Burlington, Toronto, London, Stratford, Ottawa, and Kingston. Our services include building envelope engineering, civil and structural engineering, building and environmental science, and land surveying.

Responsibilities
- Work within a project team to deliver top quality structural rehabilitation and building envelope restoration projects, including replacement of windows, skylights and curtainwall systems to clients;
- Assist with building envelope performance, such as air/water leak testing, thermographic survey, High and Low-volt ELD scanning and contributing to the field evaluations as well as technical writing, preparation of quantities, and budget estimates;
- Undertake site reviews of construction projects to help monitor conformance with specifications, quality of workmanship, budget, and schedule;
- Assist with the tendering process, preparing tender notifications, attending tender meetings, preparing bid summary and recommendations;
- Help with preparing specifications, including editing technical sections and working with CAD staff to sketch details;
- Assist with administering construction contracts, including preparing CCDC contracts, preparing payment certificates, change orders, certificates for substantial performance, building permit applications;
- Liaise with contractors, clients, and manufacturers to assist with responding to project related inquiries;
- Participate in project meetings with clients and contractors and contribute to presentations and prepare meeting minutes;
- Contribute to development of internal practice systems within the Building Restoration group;
- Participate and contribute to internal and external technical training sessions;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with specialization in Building Science being an asset;
- 3-5 years of related work experience (including co-op experience);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including technical writing and presentation skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French, including technical writing and presentation skills is an asset;
- Proficient user of AutoCAD
- Thermography – Level 1 is an asset;
- Experience with IO CAD Audit is an asset;
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and adaptability to shifting priorities;
- Strong organizational skills with minimum supervision;
- On occasions must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
- Working with colleagues and sub-consultants;
- A team player approach to problem solving;
- Experience working at heights;
- Candidate will be required to work from suspended work platforms and lifts from time to time;
- Required to have access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license for travel to project sites. Mileage will be reimbursed for work related travel.

Salary Range
- $57,600 - $72,000
