Full job description

Cascade Corporation is a global leader in the material handling industry. We manufacture a variety of products that enable the conventional lift truck or forklift to become a more versatile and efficient materials handling tool. These products enable a lift truck to pull, push, clamp, lift, sideshift and rotate practically any unit load imaginable. As the global leader in lift truck - fork lift attachments, forks and accessories, Cascade has been providing solutions for nearly every industry and application for over 75 years.

The Guelph, ON location designs and manufactures specialty fork products.

Cascade Canada has an open position for a Mechanical Engineer/Designer to provide support for fork design projects and to create technical drawings using CAD.

Minimum Education, Experience and Training Requirement:

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

· Demonstrated proficiency of the Solid Edge environment.

· Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office tools.

· Knowledge and experience in engineering calculations, selection and sizing of material and components.

· Familiar of the Teamcenter environment.

· Familiar with manufacturing processes (welding, cutting, machining, heat treat, etc.).

· Familiar with weld call-out (AWS D1.1) and dimensioning practices (ASME Y14.5).

· Understanding of Engineering standards, codes, regulations and guidelines.

· FEA experience is an asset.

· Previous experience with material handling industry is an asset.

· Programming language(s) is an asset.

· Familiar with ERP systems.

· Proactive approach.

· Strong organizational and planning skills.

· Willingness to solve unconventional problems, curiosity in designing solutions.

· Familiar with basic measuring tools.

One year of previous design experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
