The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $ 107,800 – $ 145,800. The offered salary will be based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications.
Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a strategic, hands-on, and leadership-oriented End User Technology Solutions Architect to head the evolution of our digital workplace. This is a 12-month contract opportunity and will report to the Manager, User Services. In this role, you will be responsible to help develop end user technology strategy solutions while driving delivery excellence and bridging the gap between user experience (UX) and IT infrastructure to support our Information Services team.

What You’ll be Doing:
Team Leadership & Accountabilities
-
Technical Leadership: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert, technical lead, 3rd level support and technical mentoring, knowledge sharing with the implementations team (~5 people)

Delivery Oversight: Provide input into the Implementation team’s back log and prioritization of work aligned to planned execution of workplace technology deployments.

Escalation & Coaching: Provide 3rd level support coaching and technical guidance to team members, serving as the ultimate escalation point for issues.

Performance & Development: Set clear objectives and expectations for delivery and support of technical projects and deployments.

Blueprint Documentation: Champion the creation and development of architectural blueprints, knowledge-base articles, and training.
Strategy, Architecture & Image Management

Associate Endpoint Ecosystem Strategy: Provides input into the shared strategy for end-point eco-system and is responsible for the architecture & solution design for platforms used to deploy and manage associate endpoints ecosystems. Contribute and develop workplace technology roadmaps by evaluating current capabilities, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending future-state solutions.

Architecture Design: Create high-level and detailed architectural designs for management of end-user technology solutions (laptops, iPhone, printers, MTR) and virtualization.

Endpoint Configuration: Design endpoint management solutions including configuration standards, deployment approaches ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security requirements and business objectives. Including the governance of end-end-process from base image -> deployment -> support.

Application Lifecycle: Participate in the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of standard and non-standard applications on end-user devices (including Adobe, Microsoft, etc.).

Technology Evaluation: Continuously evaluate emerging solutions (e.g., AI-driven IT support, virtual collaboration spaces) and lead Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives.
User Experience & Collaboration Standards

End-User Experience Technical Ownership: Act as the primary technical owner for the overall associate experience as it relates to end-user technology solutions, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and meeting rooms.

Collaboration & Meeting Rooms: Develop and maintain standards, personas for meeting room technology and collaboration tools, ensuring end users are properly educated on their effective usage.

Performance Optimization: Proactively identify bottlenecks in the associate technology experience, designing improvements for system performance, application delivery, and login speeds.
Governance, Asset & License Management

Standard Operating Procedures: Responsible for ensuring standard operating procedures (SOPs) are created, documented, and strictly followed by technical teams.

Hardware Lifecycle Management: Manage the end-to-end hardware lifecycle for end-user devices, establishing standards and controls to ensure assets are tracked and upgraded regularly.

Software License Compliance: Track, maintain, and audit software licenses, ensuring adequate allocation and optimal utilization across the organization.
Security & Operations Integration

Security Posture Strengthening: Partner closely with the InfoSec security team to strengthen the technology posture of end-user devices, aligning solutions with corporate cybersecurity policies, data privacy laws, and compliance frameworks.

Identity & Access Management: Collaborate with InfoSec to ensure compliance for authentication workflows, including Single Sign-On (SSO), password less entry, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for associate end user technology.

Automation Engineering: Build automated workflows for provisioning and patching of associate endpoint to reduce manual IT operations and accelerate zero-touch deployment of end user technology.

Change Management: Provide technical leadership and identify the impact of change to the end user for migrations, OS rollouts, and disruptive workplace upgrades.

Vendor & Internal Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact with external vendors, affiliates such as TMNA and internal support teams to resolve persistent Tier 3 issues for end user technology devices.
What You’ll Bring:

University Degree and/or college diploma in computer science or related discipline
-
6+ years of progressive experience in End User Computing (EUC), IT infrastructure architecture, or systems engineering
-
2+ years of experience leading end user technology changes, mentoring technical team to support implementation and identification of impact and education to end users.

Hands-on architectural experience with Unified Enterprise Management platforms such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), HCL Bigfix, VMware, Virtual Apps and Desktops, or AWS End User Computing.

Comprehensive understanding of Windows 11, macOS, mobile device management (MDM) for iOS/Android, and meeting room hardware (end user education, utilization, configuration, support of meetings)

Familiarity with identity architectures (Azure AD / Entra ID, Okta) and associate endpoint security principles.

Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline IT operations and packaging solutions.

Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical terms into clear, user-friendly business language.
