Full job description

Overview:

SAGD Operator will respond to daily operations and maintenance activities while meeting production and HSSE targets. To support in optimizing plant efficiency and performance and troubleshooting during unusual or adverse conditions. This position works within a high involvement and exciting work environment.

14 days on/14 day off; Fly in/Fly out schedule. Work location is Fort McMurray AB.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet the expectations and targets set out by Operation’s Group in the areas of safety, cost control, revenue generation, and organizational effectiveness by maintaining process targets;
  • Contribute to the high performance work team and identify opportunities to effectively manage the business;
  • Maintain skills in the technical and business process of the operation;
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, optimization and meeting operations targets to control key costs and improved reliability;
  • Conduct work within the standards and policies that are in place;
  • Maintain all HSSE and technical competency requirements;
  • Promote consistency within the operating areas with regards to operating practices and work quality;
  • Monitor thermal efficiency of exchangers, heating and cooling systems;
  • Ensure data collection is accurate completed in a timely manner;
  • Provide clear communication and direction to plant and field operators;
  • Promote continuous improvement in plant operation and practices;
  • Comply with internal and external reporting requirements;
  • Work within Emergency Response Plans as required;
  • Participate in the development of SOP’s, LOTO, safe operation of the facilities.

Qualifications

  • 3rd class ticket minimum/ preference for a 2nd Class Steam Certificate;
  • Preferably with at least 5 years in depth experience in SAGD Operations;
  • Strong technical knowledge of SAGD Operations, Process, Boilers and Water Treatment;
  • Strong Interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Comfortable working with a team or independently;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50.00 per hour

Licence/Certification:

  • 3rd Class Power Engineering Ticket (required)
