Full job description

911 Industrial Response Ltd. is seeking experienced Safety Watch personnel to support a major plant turnaround in 2026. As a key member of the safety team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of safety for all workers on-site.

About the Role

Safety Watch personnel are responsible for monitoring and ensuring safe work practices in high-risk environments. During the turnaround, you will provide essential safety support, including:

- Confined Space Monitoring: Overseeing workers entering confined spaces to ensure adherence to safety protocols and provide emergency assistance if required.

- Gas Detection Monitoring: Utilizing equipment to detect hazardous gases, ensuring the work environment remains safe for personnel.

- Hot Work Safety: Observing hot work activities (e.g., welding, cutting) and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to prevent fires or accidents.

- Emergency Preparedness: Acting as a first point of response for potential emergencies, including evacuation or rescue procedures.

- Worksite Observation: Maintaining a constant presence to enforce safety rules, identify hazards, and provide real-time feedback to workers and supervisors.

This is a demanding yet rewarding role that requires vigilance, attention to detail, and physical endurance. You will be working 12-hour shifts (day and night rotations) over periods of up to 24 days to support a successful turnaround.

Requirements:

- Minimum 80 days working in the field in an active Safety Watch role on Turnarounds or projects of a similar scope.

- Possess all applicable certifications, including:

- Intermediate First Aid

- H2S Alive

- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)

- Confined Space Entry and Monitoring (Energy Safety Canada)

- Gas Detection (Energy Safety Canada)

- Physically fit, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

- Willing and able to work 12-hour shifts (days or nights) with rotations lasting up to 24 days.

- Clean Class 5 Driver’s License (asset, not required).

- Reliable transportation to and from Grande Prairie.
