Qualifications – Northern Ontario Healthcare Facility

  • Registered Nurse registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) required
  • Minimum 2–3 years of recent Emergency Department experience preferred
  • CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
  • Experience with Expanse and PCC electronic health record systems required
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: 3 months + possibility of extension
  • Must be willing to travel between multiple sites if required

Responsibilities:

Registered Nurses are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide emergency nursing care including triage, assessment, and treatment of acute and trauma patients
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to critical changes
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Float between sites as required to support operational needs
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation using Expanse and PCC systems
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety protocols

Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility needs and shift assignments, with specific guidance provided during site orientation.

Experience:

  • Recent Canadian Emergency Department nursing experience required
  • Experience working in rural or multi-site healthcare environments considered an asset
  • Experience with Expanse and PCC systems required
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
